Visual Studio 2008 is the version of Visual Studio which comes with the .NET Framework 3.5. It was released to MSDN subscribers on 19 November 2007 alongside the .NET Framework 3.5.

Visual Studio 2008 can target development in .NET Framework versions 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5. Visual Studio 2008 comes with many new feature over Visual Studio 2005. Visual Studio 2008 features a XAML based designer (codenamed Cider), workflow designer, LINQ to SQL designer (for defining the type mappings and object encapsulation for SQL Server data), XSLT debugger, JavaScript Intellisense support, JavaScript Debugging support.
